Lactation Consultant/Community Outreach RN– Hailey Idaho

Anna Winnett, MS, RD, LD, IBCLC
Anna joins the board with a strong background in leadership, developed through numerous roles during her college years planning conferences, leading student organizations, and coordinating campus activities. She continues to serve her community through her professional work and her involvement with the Idaho Breastfeeding Coalition (IBC). Anna is committed to representing diverse perspectives and fostering equitable, inclusive spaces where all individuals feel supported and valued.
In 2019, Anna moved to the Boise area to pursue a Master of Science in Nutrition and complete her dietetic internship through Idaho State University. She earned her bachelor's degree in Food Science and Nutrition through studies at Walla Walla Community College and Central Washington University.
Anna became involved with the Idaho Breastfeeding Coalition in 2020 as an intern under Pattie Armor, RN, BSN, IBCLC while completing her master's capstone project. Her research focused on surveying participants of Saint Alphonsus's free Breastfeeding Support Group. After presenting her findings at the 2021 IBC Annual Summit, she deepened her commitment to the organization and has since served on the Summit Planning Committee.
Anna has long been passionate about advocating for women's health in its many dimensions. Inspired by mentors having WIC experience, she chose to focus her dietetics career on lactation. She began her professional career as a registered dietitian with WIC and remains dedicated to supporting the families she serves. In her current role, she provides nutrition and lactation education to parents during the prenatal and postpartum periods and supports child feeding and nutrition from birth through age five.
Outside of work and volunteer service, Anna enjoys spending time outdoors. She can often be found gardening or fly fishing with her partner, Jamison.
