KRISTIE KARROUM

Kristie has been an advocate for breastfeeding mothers for 20 years. She became an IBCLC after 10 years supporting families in NICU and childbirth center settings as a Registered Nurse. Much of her passion for breastfeeding support comes from her own breastfeeding journey with her two boys, experiencing the challenges that come with mothering and breastfeeding, and realizing the importance of being surrounded by a network of support. Her work has included consultations in the hospital, clinic, community and home environments, leading prenatal and postpartum education classes, training hospital and pediatric clinic nursing staff, developing policies and programs in support of breastfeeding and serving as faculty at Idaho State University
teaching Maternal Family and Pediatric Nursing.

As a Nurse Practitioner she founded Nurture Lactation Support in 2018. Nurture offers home visits to eliminate physical and financial barriers to care with services delivered to the mother’s doorstep and billable to private insurance and Medicaid. Kristie’s mission is to empower all mothers to overcome challenges and reach their individual goals through evidence-based, judgement-free support.
